Frequently Asked Questions
I have a Mac (or right-clicking is painful for me). What can I do?
If you press "Prefs" at any time, you will notice a checkbox that says "Use one-button (Mac) controls". Check this. Left-clicking now issues orders. To select a new unit, you can use tab or else deselect (press D) and left-click a new unit.
I don't understand the opp-fire choices, like when it chooses to shoot mines and when it doesn't. What gives?
Opp-fire chooses targets with the following order:
Why am I seeing isolated squares at great distances, but none of the intervening squares?
Sometimes, the visibility system can create situations that look a bit odd. This is because of how LGGWG calculates visibility---by drawing lines from the center of each unit to the center of each square it might be able to see.
Let's check out this diagram. Here, the cyan player can see "islands" of visibilty through the window to the right of her puffer and Snipey, revealing the green Executive. (The whole map isn't shown, and the green Snipey in the lower right is visible from another vantage point.)

If you draw a line from the center of Cyan's puffer to the center of the green Executive, you'll see that there is nothing obstructing it. However, if you draw a line from the center of the Cyan puffer to the window between the Exec and the puffer, you'll see that it is, indeed, obscured by the wall. This feels a bit wacky, though, since clearly the puffer is seeing through the window.
In large maps with big empty spaces or squared-off rooms, this sort of artifact doesn't happen much. In maps like this with twisty corridors and isolated windows, you'll get some of this "pools of visibility" stuff. It's normal, and it's correct, but it does seem odd now and then.
What is a Panda Attack? An Executive Panda Attack?
A Panda Attack is an all-out charge. An Executive Panda Attack is a lone charge by a cornered executive. EAPs are often suicide charges, while a regular PA is usually just aggressive play.
