Plot summary: Mining ship detours to check planet for lifeforms. They find one, and it's a doozy.
Biased, pithy comments: Scary movie which set off the whole genre of space-age terrors in strange environments (c.f. ``Deep Star Six'',``Abyss''). Kept me on the edge of my seat; Weaver seems surprisingly young. Special effects lose almost nothing over the years.
