Plot summary: Earth cop is transferred to Mars to investigate robot crime.
Biased, pithy comments: Although this borrows perhaps too heavily from ``Blade Runner,'' it's still one of the best modern anime films around. It's even set up for consumption by non-anime addicts; the dubbed version with Sutherland and Berkley is as good as dubbed anime gets. The art is fascinating and ideas interesting, though at times it feels like the writers decided to veer off into conventional guns-n-robots fare to keep the masses happy rather than integrating the fights into the story. A good watch; ``Ghost in the Shell'' is still probably the best place to start with anime for adults, but this is a good followup.
