Basic Instinct(1992)

Wolff rating: GOOD

Plot summary: Local famous writer might be up to something evil, so a dirty cop looks into it and gets more than he bargains for.

Biased, pithy comments: Hitchcockian movie that has an intricate plot and some pretty good acting, and was popular enough to set off a whole slew of rip-offs (such as ``Fatal Instinct'', which also harshes on Douglas's other affairs). Though aging somewhat, it remains tense, with angry, tense relationships between just about every member of the cast. Sexual relations also abound among just about every character, too, which makes for a steamy watch. Stone is good, Douglas is good, and I'm just a sucker for whoever it is who plays the psychologist. (Jeanne Tripplehorn)

Other Notes: Hmm. Think I'll go chip some ice.

How many times I have seen it: x3

Starring: Sharon Stone, Michael Douglas, Jeanne Tripplehorn
Directed by: Paul Verhoven
