Plot summary: Caped, pointy-eared superhero fights the Joker while falling in love with blond photographer.
Biased, pithy comments: As comic-book to movie adaptations go, this is one of the finest, if not the best. The dark, brooding residents of Gotham City are well-portrayed by Burton and his minions. The music is fantastic, the acting by Keaton correctly quirky and understated. Even Nicholson seems at home in his wild'n'wacky role, and this is probably the only movie in which Kim Basinger doesn't seem talentless.
