Wolff rating: GOOD
Plot summary: A personalized look into the German attack on a small French town during the big battle in World War II.
Biased, pithy comments: Amazing reconstruction of the battle, including wide-screen pans of huge groups of Panzers and Shermans and hundreds of soldiers. Definitely worth a watch for war buffs, but it actually has some characterization, too.
Other Notes: I've been told under no uncertain circumstances that this movie fails to recapture the overall military objectives of the Germans nor uses the right kind of tanks and thus isn't for war buffs. I'm sort of a war buff, but no grognard, so I wasn't perturbed by its lack of accuracy, but then again, I thought of it more as a movie than a documentary. Public opinion has been against this---so far, only one person has emailed me to support me on my liking of this film versus numerous people venomously disagreeing.
How many times I have seen it: x1.5
