Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: Mockumentary follows a few handlers and their dogs going to the Mayflower Dog Show.
Biased, pithy comments: If this were the movie Guest had made on his way up to ``Guffman'' or ``Spinal Tap,'' I think I would have been more delighted, delighted by the talky, improvised script and the very human performances of Levy and his cohort. There are also a couple of quoteable, choice moments here and there, but this has nothing of the non-stop cringing hilarity of his earlier mockumentary. In fact, this may be Guest's cruelest movie yet. You can make fun of these small-time dreamers and pretend like you're laughing with them not at them, but ultimately it comes off as more than a little smug. Fun, but not perfect.
