Wolff rating: GOOD
Plot summary: Two airhead surfheads are going to flunk history if they don't get a little help from the future.
Biased, pithy comments: Surprisingly, even with its crazy sight gags and moderate grasp of history, it is one of the few movies concerning time travel that actually parses well and deals with the doubling phenomenon adequately. It's still a summertime wacked-out film about a pair of really stupid people, but quite watchable, and since it was really the first of a whole genre of similar flicks (``Wayne's World'', to name one), it has some historical value, filmwise (and not real history-wise).
Other Notes: ``Catch you later, Bill and Ted!'' Most excellently quoteable, dude. Soundtrack is quite mid-eighties.
How many times I have seen it: x4
Starring: Keanu Reeves, Alex Winter, George Carlin
