Plot summary: Brooding, vengeful vampire killer has to team up with vampires to stop...other thing.
Biased, pithy comments: Although the first Blade was arguably ``The Matrix'' before ``The Matrix,'' it wasn't great hero cinema. In Snipes' own words (in an interview), the original Blade was ``a little stiff.'' In this movie, Snipes loosens up a little bit, but more importantly the story gets a lot better. del Toro makes movies where the monster is a little melancholy (see also ``Mimic'' and ``Chronos''), but in this he manages to cross that with some seriously moving action sequences that give very little time to breathe. I knew I was having fun when our set of leather-clad heroes are standing knee-deep in sewage as scores of undead are crawling up and around the walls to surround them. Oh, I know it's silly, but it's a lot of fun if you know what you're going to get when you go in.
Other Notes: You know, last time, Snipes didn't have to have the costume with the multiple belts across his stomach. Is he gettin' some paunch? I doubt it---the man is huge.
