Plot summary: Unstable wife of grumpy man have problems in bed which lead them to seek unconventional therapy.
Biased, pithy comments: I tried. Really, I tried. But during one of the long-winded, Obi Wan Kenobi-like speeches about how they have to keep practicing masturbation, I had to cry, ``Wax on, wax off.'' For being uncontrolled, barely-legal therapy, Stamp's instructions to the young couple is pretty normal sex therapy stuff---touch, sensate therapy, and a smattering of silly Kama Sutra words. However, the lines are delivered with such solemn earnest that it was positively laughable. The rest of the story, all about abuse, seems quite real, but is depressingly familiar and fails to have a unique spark about it. This movie must be a touching statement of love from one filmmaker to his or her loved one that struggled with an abused past, but for everyone else it's a little too much like a bad ``Karate Kid'' for sex.
Other Notes: Golly, Connie the secretary looks familiar. You might have seen her in ``Intensity.''
