Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: Wonderfully shot movie about a man struggling to bring refugees from Red China to Hong Kong.
Biased, pithy comments: Did I mention it was wonderfully shot? Alas the Duke can't match up to Bacall's skill, and as such it's sometimes painful to watch it. It's also clearly Cold War propaganda, with all the nice touches including overdone speeches about how Communism is anti-family, anti-goodness, and lives on fear and guilt. Still, a good watch.
How many times I have seen it: x1
Starring: John Wayne, Lauren Bacall, Paul Fix, Joy Kim.
