Cadence(1991)

Wolff rating: FAIR

Plot summary: Macho leatherneck is sent to the stockade where he learns lessons and race relations.

Biased, pithy comments: It's PC! It's predictable! It's ALL SHEEN ALL THE TIME! That's a little harsh for a made-for-TV-level movie, but with all that talent wandering around, you wonder why they didn't make a better movie. It's (Martin) Sheen's first time directing, and even with two of his kids in the cast, he can't make this tale (set in 1960s) seem relevant. Oh, well---enjoy the march of the swinging black prisoners as (Charlie) Sheen tries to stay in step. It's clearly the best part of the movie.

Other Notes: Yup, Ramon Estevez is a son of Martin Sheen. This movie has rabid fans who write me a lot.

How many times I have seen it: x1

Starring: Martin Sheen, Charlie Sheen, Ramon Estevez, Laurence Fishburne, Harry Stewart, Michael Beach, Blu Mankuma, John Toles-Bey.
Directed by: Martin Sheen
