Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: A toy gets some voodoo and goes bad.
Biased, pithy comments: This was a surprise hit back in the 80s---a low-budget slasher movie at the time when low budgets and slashing was in. As the years have gone by, this movie has aged remarkably well, but ultimately it was at best a three-star one-star movie. Hack, slash, one-liner, blood. There is a lot of fun filmmaking in it during the establishing parts---everyone not believing the kid, the strange footprints in the flour, and that scene where she's looking for batteries, but it's hard to recommend this over any of a number of other slashers. Now, ``Bride of Chucky'' is quality film. Check it out.
