Clear and Present Danger(1994)

Wolff rating: EXCELLENT

Plot summary: Part 3 in the ``Jack Ryan personally saves the world'' series, but this time Jack is stopping drug dealers and finding out about strange conspiracies.

Biased, pithy comments: This ends up being a solid, well-filmed movie full of sweating white guys in suits, ugly drug dealers, and the occasional laser-guided bombing. The sniper is especially good, and Clancy's novel, though right wing almost to a fault, translates excellently to the screen. Could be a little rough following the characters if you're used to turning your brain off to watch summer movies.

Other Notes: Benjamin Braitt of ''Law and Order'' fame is the leader of the commando squad. A young lady emailed me to tell me that she disagreed with my high rating; she had to watch it several times to make sense out of it, and she nearly messed up her school report because of it. Sorry, Steph!

How many times I have seen it: x3

Starring: Harrison Ford, Anne Archer
