Wolff rating: GOOD
Plot summary: Biopic of Loretta Lynn's life's ups and downs.
Biased, pithy comments: Engaging tale of rags to riches told with a certain hick charm and pretty good music. Spacek does her own singing and does it well, and though Jones and D'Angelo have a few quality moments, she really runs the show. Kinda slow, though, and certainly more aimed at women than men.
Other Notes: The biopic goes a little light on the bad times after Cline bites the big one and loses quite a bit of realism, but hey, it's Hollywood!
How many times I have seen it: x1
Starring: Sissy Spacek, Tommy Lee Jones, Beverly D'Angelo.
