Color of Night, The(1994)

Wolff rating: NOT BAD

Plot summary: Depressed psychiatrist comes to L.A. to see his colleague who is killed in a grisly murder by one of his patients, and our anti-hero stays to find the murderer.

Biased, pithy comments: ``Vertigo'' it ain't. ``Dead Again'' it ain't. It ain't even ``Basic Instinct'', which is too bad since that's exactly what it is trying to be. So if you can stand Willis (who I happen to like) and can overlook March (who can't act to save any of her multiple personalities) and can stand some pointless sex scenes, you'll have a moderately-twisty psychothriller. The ``Color'' part of the title is the really creative idea, where the main character can't see the color of red because he's so messed up, and hence gives the whole story a color aesthetic.

Other Notes: Why did they drop that car on him? Any reason? I didn't think so.

How many times I have seen it: x1

Starring: Bruce Willis, June March (every square inch of her), Scott Bakula
