Plot summary: Strange cabdriver sees conspiracy everywhere, and tries to convince a beautiful assistant DA to believe him.
Biased, pithy comments: This movie was fine---no part of it really made me think they had done something wrong, but as the movie closed I found I hadn't learned anything and I didn't seem to care about what had happened. It seems like the film could have been either a jokey look at Americans' increasing paranoia, it could have been a love story, it could have been an episode of the ``X-files'' for two hours, or it could even have just been another ``Fugitive.'' But every time the film seemed to be about one of these sorts of themes, it would suddenly switch directions, and after a few direction changes, I stopped worrying about whatever was going to happen. There are dangling plot threads (what happened to that drowned millionare, anyhow?), some moments of long dialog and exposition, and some really silly moments, all of which lead me to believe this was once a good script that went wrong. Could have been much, much better.
Other Notes: ``Ladyhawke'' is showing in the movie theatre Jerry runs in to, which is a movie by the same director.
