Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: Famous serial killer psychologist helps the police find a killer who is recreating famous killings by famous killers.
Biased, pithy comments: This was actually a pretty good movie, frankly, but lacked really memorable peformances like ``Silence of the Lambs.'' Hunter was good, Weaver was competent (though looked silly in her glasses, which distracted me), Mulroney was his usual low-key self, and Harry Connick Jr. was pretty much satisfyingly nuts. At the same time, neither the camera, the atmosphere, or the music stood out from a host of other good-but-forgettable serial killer flicks; even ``Basic Instinct,'' as crazy as it was, had me much more on the edge of my seat. So, if you're a true-crime addict, a Weaver/Hunter fan, a stalker looking for pointers, or really like psychologist movies, you're in luck. Otherwise, check out some other serial-killer thrillers out there, or else a good episode of ``Homicide.''
