Wolff rating: FAIR
Plot summary: Boy grows up and grows cynical, bitter, and disaffected in the 70s in the Bronx.
Biased, pithy comments: Though it was competently-made and (now and then) a somewhat compelling story, I found myself rather bored with the sprawling pacing and the unfocused themes. The ending is telegraphed by the trailer, which leads to anticlimax, so all told I can't really recommend this with a whole heart.
How many times I have seen it: x1
Starring: Larenz Tate, Keith David, Chris Tucker.
Directed by: Allen and Albert Hughes
