Wolff rating: EXCELLENT
Plot summary: El Mariachi's El Mariachi is back to bring justice to the drug dealers who were (albeit indirectly) responsible for his hand's injury and his girlfriend's death.
Biased, pithy comments: So what? I say. So what if halfway through the shoot they decided to make this a sequel, not a remake of El Mariachi? So what if the plot is slow-moving filler between fight set pieces? So what if there are plot holes the size of Mack trucks? So what if it's corny? So what? Robert Rodriguez can film a fight, damn it, and we're going to watch it in all it's slow-motion, gory, bullet-soaked glory! Great cinematography, painfully poor plot. But what fun, what fun. The second time through the plot hurts less largely because I wasn't worried about it, and the fights get better.
Other Notes: Makes you want to go out there and convert your guitar case into a .50 caliber machine gun, doesn't it?
How many times I have seen it: x2
