Wolff rating: MOSTLY HARMLESS
Plot summary: Mental patient with a tendency towards unnecessary surgery sets loose on the town's horny teens (and second wives).
Biased, pithy comments: With a better plot and a few better one-liners, this could have been an excellent adaptation of the bizarre Dark Horse comic (also the publisher of `The Mask'). However, Drake's casual, callous delivery of doctor jokes only keeps you going for a little while. In good slasher movies, you're rooting for the good guys (whom you actually want to survive) and rooting for the slasher (whom you want to kill the jerks who deserve to die for whatever social indignity they've heaped on our heroes). Instead, Dr. Giggles knocks off teens left and right and we just don't care. Combs' acting runs largely to little-girl grimaces, and as such we just don't care about her and her heart problem. I think it's hard to make good slashers, and this movie is one of the ones that missed.
