Wolff rating: GOOD
Plot summary: Secret agent with kung-fu grip goes to a remote island to take place in a martial arts competition.
Biased, pithy comments: This is one of the two best Bruce Lee movies made. The mirror fight sequence at the end is one of the most-quoted scenes, some of the karate is fantastic, and the supporting characters are a refreshing blend of cliches. However, what makes this movie is the Lee mystique, made strong with his controlled glower and slow-motion screams. Even though the world he lives in doesn't entirely make sense (why would anyone want to create an entire island full of evil henchmen and not include guards with automatic weapons?), Lee, staring at us through sorrowful eyes, has presence not found in Van Damme or Stallone.
Other Notes: Some of Bruce Lee's moves are slowed down so that audiences could follow them---in real life he was often just a blur. This movie was hilariously lampooned in ``Kentucky Fried Movie'' as ``A Fist Full of Yen.''
