Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: Teenagers go to a cabin in the woods, find the Necronomicon, and things start going wrong. Terribly wrong.
Biased, pithy comments: Sam Raimi is great. I love him. This is not his best movie. Evil Dead, a movie made for almost no money, is superseded by Evil Dead 2. ED2 has the same plot, has slightly better acting, runs a bit longer, follows more of the story, and ends setting up ``Army of Darkness.'' I'm a dedicated Raimi follower, and I don't really feel like I needed to see this movie, except that it was fun to see Bruce Campbell young and skinny.
