Plot summary: U.S.S. Nimitz ends up going back in time to December 6th, 1941.
Biased, pithy comments: What could be a fascinating tale for historical war junkies around the world turns into something far more placid---an almost-was, or never-will-be. The time-travel, though used as a massive plot device, isn't explained (which is actually OK in a show like this, where the important thing is to pit a modern aircraft carrier in a one-man show against an entire fleet), but we're not really allowed to see what we paid our money to see---cool air battles with Zeroes and F-14s. Has a good cast, but I was horribly unsatisfied by the ending. Bah, character piece. Bah. The characters were too one-note to really make that part of the show good, but I suppose it would take hours to show and film the Nimitz taking on the Japanese.
Other Notes: In one scene, I was worried that one of the F-14s would crash, and I found out later that, indeed, the plane almost bottomed out onto the ocean during filming.
How many times I have seen it: x1
