Glass House, The(2001)

Wolff rating: MOSTLY HARMLESS

Plot summary: Girl and boy are orphaned and end up staying with creepy people.

Biased, pithy comments: I can watch Sobieski brush her teeth, and I'd enjoy it. Her voice is fantastic---husky, intelligent, all that good stuff. Her eyes are luminous. Ahh, Leelee, if I were younger, not happily married, 20 pounds lighter, smarter, and living in Hollywood, she could ignore me at a party and I'd be happy. Oh, wait, I'm writing a review of a movie, not Sobieski. The movie sucks, mostly; you'd have to be some kind of idiot both to be the victim in this movie (one would assume if your parents were killed and you hated your foster parents you could, like, read California family law), and you'd have to be even stupider to be the bad guys (if they want these kids' money, wouldn't they be nice to the kids, not creepy and weird?). Oy. Dumb. But the visuals are very nice; the house looks neat, Leelee has nice outfits, the colors are nice. I have to admit I spaced out a lot and programmed while watching, so I'm probably being too kind.

How many times I have seen it: x1

Starring: Leelee Sobieski, Diane Lane, Stellan Skarsgaard, Trevor Morgan.
Directed by: Daniel Sackheim
