Plot summary: A young Truman Capote-like character goes to live with his two older female cousins and gets involved in their problems.
Biased, pithy comments: I have to admit that I couldn't figure out why they had made this film. It wasn't that it was a bad film in any way (although it was a bit of a ``Saturday Evening Post'' sort of feel-good story), but I wasn't sure whether the message of the film (``Be yourself at all costs and don't do what society tells you to do'') was aimed at us now, or folks in the 1920s (who probably needed more encouragement to experience life to the fullest). Still, if you're in the mood for a sweet O Henry-type story set in a time when America was young starring a bevy of quality actors and actresses (some in better roles than others---tragically, I thought the best roles weren't the main characters), then you'll like this film. I was clearly not the audience for this film, and as such it left me a bit cold.
How many times I have seen it: x1
