Wolff rating: MOSTLY HARMLESS
Plot summary: Hockey player tries to save his grandmother's house by playing golf.
Biased, pithy comments: Sandler isn't nearly as awful as he normally is. I really found him a bland screen presence rather than his normal stomach-wrenching painfulness, but perhaps that was due to the white noise of the airplane on which I was seeing this particular cinematic gem. Still, predictable, dull, a few laughs (mostly of embarassment at the slapstick), and not a single interesting twist. The only surprise was that I didn't find it worse.
Other Notes: I get so much abuse about my review of this one. Wow! The letters keep pouring in, including threats of bodily harm! Everyone who disagrees with me should first see ``Caddyshack'' and see a really good goofy golf movie. ``Tin Cup'' is another good golf movie.
