Hostile Intent(1997)

Wolff rating: EVIL

Plot summary: Geek invents ``unbreakable'' encryption, then goes on camping trip. Gee, do you think it's safe up there in the woods?

Biased, pithy comments: This is a propaganda film, no two ways about it. The author of the screenplay, Coto, has directed such schlock as ``Dr. Giggles'' and ``Star Kid'', so I was surprised by the didactic intent of this crap. With unavenged deaths, heartless ATF-like stormtroopers, and a hateful Jew bureaucrat (you know, Jews are in charge of all the jack-booted thugs in our government as they were in charge of other dictatorships, like Germany, Poland, and Nicaragua), this is heading into ``Hitler Youth Quex'' territory. Fortunately, it's an obscure video found on back shelves, so it won't taint too many people's thinking, outside of fringe people who were already predisposed to believe that the ATF is, in fact, intending to wrest control from the Congress. Skip, even for the sight of the normally friendly Rob Lowe attempting to be both a nerd and a commando.

Other Notes: B-mania.com choice of the week. Hoo-ah, it sucks. Too bad the director also directed a good movie---12;01pm.

How many times I have seen it: x1

Starring: Rob Lowe, Sofia Shinas, James Kidnie, John Savage.
Directed by: Jonathan Heap
