Wolff Movie Index

Innocent Blood(1992)

Wolff rating: GOOD

Plot summary: Sexy vampire gal hunts mobsters for fun and food, but things get out of hand.

Biased, pithy comments: Landis is one of those directors like Tarrantino, Rodriguez, or Hawks, where in just a few minutes you know you're watching one of his movies and have been completely sucked in. This is an unlikely movie, and like other Landis movies, probably goes over the top one too many times, but the film remains engaging and well-acted, paced cleanly, and ends with a bang. LaPaglia, Loggia, and his mobster buddies slide into their roles like they were well-tailored suits. Enjoy it, but don't think too hard, and don't mind the gore; remember, this is the same guy who brought you ``American Werewolf in London.''

Other Notes: This movies continues Landis' exploration of naked small-breasted women. Parillaud is French, though, so I'm sure she didn't feel exploited.

How many times I have seen it: x1

Starring: Anne Parillaud, Anthony LaPaglia, Robert Loggia.
Directed by: John Landis
