Plot summary: Aging law professor is guilted into defending a poor black man harassed into jail and on death row.
Biased, pithy comments: Contrived and weak, this movie, though packed with talent, staggers from place, including a painful re-enactment of better scenes from ``Silence of the Lambs''. There are moments of deliberate stupidity by characters and plot holes the size of a Mack truck. Skip it and watch something that makes sense.
