Plot summary: Professional gunman injures a lounge singer, and he goes on one last mission to save her.
Biased, pithy comments: Though similar in many respects to Woo's other masterwork, ``A Better Tomorrow'', this film shows better filmsmanship and slightly better gunfights than ABT. The plot is very loose and probably overly complex, but it contains many themes of honor and heroism that are missing from the usual action fare from Hollywood.
Other Notes: To appreciate Woo's work, I would start with ``A Better Tomorrow'' and then go to this film, and then end with ``Hardboiled.''
