Wolff rating: MOSTLY HARMLESS
Plot summary: Film noir, film noir, film noir. Strange, sexy stepmother is stalked while laybout son finds her intriguing.
Biased, pithy comments: While some film noir (say, ``The Last Seduction'') can make the whole matter sexy (with the combination of sex, kitch, and death) even as you're screaming at the protagonist to watch out for this scary chick who is out to do him in. In this case, however, the sex is uninteresting, the protagonist a lazy poor actor, and the plot not particularly twisty or clever. I was bored, and even seeing Brigitte from the NBC's ``Pretender'' series without a shirt couldn't rescue me.
Other Notes: Then again, I'm not much of a noir fan.
How many times I have seen it: x1
Starring: Brent Fraser, Pamela Gidley, J.T. Walsh, Dwight Yoakam.
