Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: Aliens come down from above and, well, kill people. But maybe they're people who deserve to die.
Biased, pithy comments: This movie has gotten a lot of bad reviews, mostly because it has an all-star cast, millions of dollars of special effects, and a four-star director, yet it seems less than the sum of its parts. I agree, I was hoping for more after I saw the preview, but going in with low expectations made me see the sheer absurdity of the situation to be as funny as it actually was. Aliens just shouldn't *do* that, not the aliens we've envisioned in Hollywood up until now. And oh, what incompetent humans. Great special effects, some very funny scenes, and extremely bizarre, but not Burton's greatest.
How many times I have seen it: x1
Starring: Jack Nicholson, Michael J. Fox, Lisa Marie, Martin Short
Directed by: Tim Burton
