North(1994)

Wolff rating: EVIL

Plot summary: Annoying kid decides to separate from his parents who ignore him and find new ones.

Biased, pithy comments: Let's briefly talk about the good in this film. The score, the cameos (watch for MacEntyre, McGillis, Bates, and numerous others in the periphery), and Wood's sincere acting were all very good. The rest of the film, from the painful, evil script (whose moral is that your parents are required to love you, even if you're a total spoiled brat) to the I-wish-I-were-Frank-L.-Baum attempt at a modern ``Wizard of Oz,'' totally sucks, and I don't use that epithet lightly. This is lame stuff that I wouldn't want my kids to see, and I don't even have kids. There is really no reason a sane person would want to see this film; it isn't even fun to laugh at.

Other Notes: Reiner! You've got such class! Why did you make this?

How many times I have seen it: x1
