Wolff rating: GOOD
Plot summary: Former boxer gets caught up in the mob that runs the longshoreman's union.
Biased, pithy comments: An all-time classic, Brando is a young, svelte marble mouthed antihero caught between his self-interest and his conscience. I found the movie interesting and engaging, quoteable without being too overt, but heavy-handed here and there with its starkness. Good.
Other Notes: Best picture from the Academy.
How many times I have seen it: x1
Starring: Marlon Brando, Karl Malden, Lee J. Cobb, Rod Steiger.
Directed by: Elia Kazan
