Ops Center(1995)

Wolff rating: MOSTLY HARMLESS

Plot summary: Some corrupt KGB agents steal some formerly-Soviet warheads and send them on a slow-boat to Israel.

Biased, pithy comments: This has all the elements of a standard Clancy novel---good guys, corrupt civilian officers, weak female roles, a guy who is independently wealthy so he can choose to do public service, and thoughtful and intelligent military officers. The scriptwriters who helped him with this one can't seem to weave all the subplots together to make this 4-hour monster worth staying fully conscious for. They also fail to make the ``Ops Center'' seem like a real place, subtracting from Clancy's intimate understanding of the military sphere.

Other Notes: Miniseries.

How many times I have seen it: x1

Starring: John Hamlin, Wilford Brimley
