Plot summary: Lawyer with AIDS sues his own law firm for wrongful termination with the help of a bigoted personal-injury lawyer.
Biased, pithy comments: In 1993, this movie was a bold statement. It was a frank and revealing look at the fear, loathing, and denial in and around AIDS. Though this movie was a little slower arriving on the scene than TV and less mainstream outlets dealing with AIDS, it was still the first time a Hollywood movie with real starpower had addressed this issue. But that's all in the past. Though I knew it was going to be a ``heavy'' movie, I actually found that it wasn't quite as gruelling an experience as I thought since the movie was so iconic. By iconic mean that the good guys were obviously good and sympathetic, the bad guys clearly bad guys, and the lawyer caught in the middle was going to see the light by the end. As such, the movie seemed like a simple voice lost in a shout of AIDS awareness, gay pride, and growing acceptance of AIDS victims.
