Plot summary: Mathematician tries to find the secret of the stock market, but it's becoming a dangerous obsession.
Biased, pithy comments: Very interesting---art-house meets Nine Inch Nails with some basic math thrown in. Although at times the editing choices seemed to make the movie seem more like a music video made on the cheap than a movie, I never felt as if the story was limited by the budget; indeed, the fast editing and excellent soundtrack kept me riveted, if confused. The story does get a little murky (especially near the end), but rewardingly so---the best part being the mathematician's accurate statement that the number itself is meaningless, as any good mathematician would tell you. This is one of those movies that hurts so good---the screeching visuals and pulsing soundtrack can affect your mental stability hours later. See it.
Other Notes: The mathematics were more or less accurate, although I'd love to see a mathematician in the movies who isn't the wild-haired anti-social psycho stereotype. Did I mention my wife is a mathematician? The pretty Indian-American neighbor played the fiancee of the director during his cameo in ``Sixth Sense.'' ``I see dead numbers!''
