Plot summary: Failing completely to follow the real tale of Pocahontas, this is a bittersweet love story between a colonial Romeo and Juliet.
Biased, pithy comments: Reviews of this movie fall around gender lines. Women tend to identify with the strong female lead, while men are left cold by the entire story, expecting I suppose more things happening in the film than actually come to pass. Being male, I found it a little light and not particularly engaging, though the animal characters are wonderful and the animation sparkling. The music is quite good, but the abandonment of history as we know it combined with a lackluster plot just left me cold overall.
