Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: Arnie breaks no new ground in his role as a sullen-faced tough-guy with a big gun; he is in South America pursued by a barely-seen hunter.
Biased, pithy comments: There is actually more beneath the surface of this movie---commentary about what it might be like if the tables were turned on humanity; what if people were just hunted for sport? We see all our bad habits reflected eerily back on us. Unfortunately, the movie is still a bloody, gory action-flick/horror with plenty of severed limbs and pointless deaths to keep the adrenaline-set happy. You've got to be in the mood for either gore or social commentary, but either way it's a little silly at times. Arnold can't act his way out of a paper bag, and Weathers can't convince anyone he's an evil CIA yuppie, including himself.
Other Notes: The fans of this movie have been all over me for my lukewarm recommendation, but I still argue that this is not even Arnie's best action flick---that would still have to be either of the Terminators.
How many times I have seen it: x4
