Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: Failed medical student teaches a housewife what's funny in life.
Biased, pithy comments: Actually quite touching, though over-simplified, tragic view of comedy. The script is a balanced but too simple short story that's too long and a little too depressing to really have a ``punchline.'' The comedy is purposefully a little stale, but suffers from the anthropic principle---seeing a movie about stale material seems stale. Not great, but thinks a little more than it flops.
How many times I have seen it: x1
Starring: Sally Field, Tom Hanks, John Goodman
