Wolff rating: MOSTLY HARMLESS
Plot summary: Woman can't keep away from her blue-collar lover, despite her too-perfect relationship with her brilliant architect fiancee.
Biased, pithy comments: I paid to see David Duchovny's butt, damn it, and I didn't get it. This is the pilot for the Zahlman King Cinemax (well, Skinemax) series, and it drags us through a fairly bland story of adultery without delivering on any decent nudity and has fairly un-fun sex scenes. (I'm not always a fan of sex scenes that contain people who aren't enjoying themselves, at least in my soft-core porn.) Given that nearly no one watches RSD for the plot (just the fantasy), King fails to deliver. And the entire time, I was hoping to see a young Duchovny's butt, but the loser only took his shirt off. (His girlfriend, though, was awfully cute.) King has an annoying habit of repeating scenes to fill out space in his bland stories; this movie is especially guilty.
Other Notes: The good thing about RSD is that it does spawn some good; the series is about the only American-produced widely-available soft-core porn that isn't a ``Basic Instinct'' knockoff.
