Red Zone Cuba(1966)

Wolff rating: SHOOT ME, PLEASE

Plot summary: Convicts on the run get pressed into service at the Bay of Pigs, then escape Cuba to find a mine where they might strike it rich.

Biased, pithy comments: Written, directed, and starring Coleman Francis (the one-man show that also produced ``Skydivers!'' and ``The Beast of Yucca Flats''), this movie takes poor editing to a new high. Though I admit they were trying to be pretty ambitious when they simulated most of Cuba by a few outbuildings and somebody in what is clearly a fake Castro-esque beard, it still was just wildly incoherent. Skip unless seeing it with the 'bots. The only movie I've ever seen that was worse was ``Manos.''

Other Notes: \MST. The female guard in ``Cuba'' was actually quite cute---did she ever make it into anything else? Also known as ``Night Train to Mundo Fine.''

How many times I have seen it: x1

Starring: Coleman Francis, Anthony Cardoza, Harold Saunders, and John Carradine.
Directed by: Coleman Francis
