Plot summary: Thief takes bickering dysfunctional family hostage in the rich suburbs of New England.
Biased, pithy comments: This movie puts the fun back in dysfunctional, to quote the Simpsons. The portrait of this train-wreck of a family is scarily familiar to those who know of such things, and the bitterness level stays high throughout most of the movie. Black humor abounds. The only real problem is that the audience is never really worried about the thief, giving the main motion of the plot (if not the theme) short shrift.
