Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: Suburban housewife snaps and starts bloodily "mothering" various people in town like a slasher.
Biased, pithy comments: This is an odd film, and probably difficult to market. Not as dark and dreary as a typical slasher, but filled with lots of jokey gallows humor. Slashers should deal a bit in fear, and this movie doesn't seem to have much; you're basically following (and, at times, rooting for) Turner's batty character hack up everyone who crosses her. The social commentary about the celebrity of killers is limp and unmemorable, and is probably the detriment to the rest of the film. Still, some moments that are funny (I'll never look at a slice of liver the same); probably a win for jaded slasher fans, but not a win for people looking for a daffy farce set in Baltimore.
Other Notes: No, it's not a true story.
