Shadow, The(1994)

Wolff rating: NOT BAD

Plot summary: Direct-line male decendant of Ghengis Khan is stirring up trouble in New York City that only one man (who has the power to cloud men's minds) has a chance to stop him.

Biased, pithy comments: There are some great camera angles, nice music, good understated acting from Baldwin here, and some of his devices are lots of fun. However, the script doesn't really make sense, and you often wonder what in heck the Shadow can and can't do, leaving you feeling like you saw something interesting, but you can't remember what it was. Miller is, as stated by another critic, merely eye candy.

Other Notes: Veritable plethora of bit parts played by future TV stars; see if you can spot the receptionist on E.R., a friendly alien from ST;Voyager, and the AA buddy of one of the NYPD Blue leads.

How many times I have seen it: x2

Starring: Alec Baldwin, Penelope Ann Miller, Jonathan Winters
