Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: Two brothers find that they are having trouble, one with his wife of a week, the other with his brother's ex-fiance.
Biased, pithy comments: Burns has obviously chosen to stick with what he knows---Irish American brothers in New York who are obsessed about themselves and express it through their women. The director, who wrote the script and plays one of the lead roles, has gotten to be a better actor, but I had trouble separating this movie from ``The Brothers McMullen.'' Except for the addition of some big-budget names (like Aniston, Diaz, and Mahoney), this seems to be roughly the same film with some of the less-focused elements cut out (we're missing one whole brother). So, if you're in the mood to watch self-absorbed twentysomethings fail to relate to women, this is the show for you. Somehow, I never find myself in that mood.
Other Notes: Goodness knows why this got an R rating. Also, Bahns is Burns's girlfriend---not actually a killer actress, but then again, neither is Burns.
How many times I have seen it: x1
Starring: John Mahoney, Edward Burns, Mike McGlone, Maxine Bahns, Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz.
