Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: A losing hockey team turns itself around with the addition of some unorthodox maneuvers.
Biased, pithy comments: This movie is ``Major League'' before its time, and contains scenes of outrageous silliness. Unfortunately, it also tries to be a more thoughtful movie, and the two don't really mix very well. The comic characters are drawn in more understated tones that make the movie seem dated in its ideas, though it still makes for a good snicker now and then, and not just at the horrendous fashions (plaids, bellbottoms, mutton chops, and leisure suits).
