Wolff rating: GOOD
Plot summary: Kungfoolishness with something about warlords selling drugs to other warlords.
Biased, pithy comments: Our hero, Chan, is in part 3 of his one-man show in China and Thailand, taking on the mob. The stunts are fantastic, the fighting is his usual combination between violence and modern dance, and once you get over some of the more awkward dialog early on in the movie (especially awkward in its dubbed-ness, though Chan and Khan dubbed themselves for this American release) this movie is action-packed action, though perhaps occasionally sailing along without a plot. Khan is amazing, and is the posterwoman for women-in-law-enforcement in contrast to Chan's girlfriend, who exists only to be in peril and make some awkward mistress jokes that Chan's onscreen charm saves from total failure. Fun for people looking for that late-eighties high-thrill no-brainer that is actually becoming hard to find in an era populated by ``Eraser'' and endless ``Die Hard'' sequels.
Other Notes: Yes, Khan does her own stunts. Look for outtakes at the end, all worth the price of admission alone.
How many times I have seen it: x1
Starring: Jackie Chan, Michelle Khan (Yeoh).
