Tank Girl(1995)

Wolff rating: FAIR

Plot summary: Young woman in post-apocalyptic world goes after the evil Water and Power corporation who his holding her younger friend hostage.

Biased, pithy comments: A visually energetic mix of cartoon and live images, it has a lot of energy. It rolls from one scene to another much like a tank, carrying you along with it, and it never seems to strike you as childish and silly as it really is. An older generation won't find it a lot of fun, but to a more cult-oriented crowd might get a good kick out of it, even if it does have plot holes that you could drive, well, a tank through. I give it a FAIR because it really isn't NOT BAD, but for a medium-low budget sci-fi random thing, it really is sorta fun. I was entertained for the entire two hours, but it didn't always make sense, and I certainly don't think I was edified.

Other Notes: Great use of ``Shaft'' theme. In fact, amusing use of music the whole way through.

How many times I have seen it: x1

Starring: Lori Petty, Malcolm McDowell
